St Mark’s Spanish Program is designed with a progressive approach. TK and Kinder students build their language fundamentals. 1st, 2nd and 3rd expand on the vocabulary foundation. 4th and 5th grade focus on grammar and verbs basics. 6th graders expand on that grammar and verbs, and the accurate use of the language. We use the textbook Descubre el Español, Level F, from Santillana USA. This material features language grammar while working on understanding, speaking, and functional writing. We also consolidate the connection to the language and Hispanic culture.
Through this approach, we cultivate the motivation and skills of our students and provide the tools to becoming life-long language learners and speakers.
