St Mark’s Spanish Program is designed with a progressive approach. TK and Kinder students build their language fundamentals, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd expand on the vocabulary foundation. In 4th and 5th grade we focus on grammar and verbs. We use the textbook Descubre el Español, Level C, from Santillana USA. This material features language grammar while working on understanding, speaking, and writing basics. This year, we will also consolidate the connection to the language and Hispanic culture.

Through this approach we cultivate the motivation and skills of our students, to encourage them in becoming life-long language learners.
