About Ms. Ashley Johnson & Miss Kristina Rios

Miss Johnson

Miss Johnson is so excited to be a part of the Saint Mark community as one of the new third grade teachers! She was born and raised in Sacramento, CA and moved to Santa Monica last August. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2018 with a bachelors in Integrated Elementary Education and recently finished her Masters Degree in Teaching and Learning through Brandman University. Miss Johnson has previously taught second and third grade in Northern California and just completed a long term substitute position in a Kindergarten and First grade combination class here in Santa Monica. Miss Johnson believes in creating a fun, supportive and accepting environment where every student feels excited to come to school each morning! She is very passionate about making meaningful connections with the students and families and believes that is what contributes to students' success. 

In Miss Johnson’s free time she enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She loves running, going to the beach, and taking her puppy, Archie, to the park. She is very excited to teach third grade this year at Saint Mark School!

Miss Rios

Miss Rios is one of the new third grade teachers here at Saint Mark, and she is extremely excited to be a part of this community!  She was born and raised in Pennsylvania and recently moved here to Torrance, CA.  She graduated from Penn State University in May 2020 with a B.S. in Elementary and Early Childhood Education, and she is looking to obtain her Master’s degree in the near future.  Before coming to Saint Mark, Miss Rios was a preschool teacher and then a substitute teacher in Pennsylvania.  Miss Rios hopes to create a fun, positive, and supportive classroom environment where children love learning and know that they can be successful at anything.  She is so glad to join the team here at Saint Mark!
