Peace Builders

Peace Builders is designed to promote a positive culture, a sense of community and peaceful, non-bullying behavior among students.

Each year, students are introduced to the "Peace Builders Pledge:" 6 commitments that promote peace at school, at home, and in the community. The language and actions supported in the "Peace Builders Pledge" are incorporated throughout school curriculum and students are referred back to the pledge when faced with situations that call for a peaceful response, such as arguments or disagreements.

"Peace Builders of the Month" are nominated by student peers and teachers for exhibiting kind, respectful, community-building behaviors, and are honored each month at assembly. The "Peace Builder of the Month" has their picture posted all month and is remembered in the annual Year Book, a practice aimed at recognizing students for who they are as people of God, not just for their academic achievements.

Promoting peace is also accomplished through "Praise Notes" which can be given to anyone at anytime for displaying peaceful behaviros. "Praise Notes" are hung-up in each classroom and are actively used by students to encourage their peers to be their best self.
