Spring Break

Good Afternoon Everyone,

This will be my last post before Spring Break. I hope you are all doing well. A reminder that I will be posting Grades by the end of next week. Please if you have not done so, please finish the assignments. The assignments can be listed below:

Don't worry if you do not finish the last assignment. I realize it may be a lot and so if you wish you can finish it when we resume next week. Just let me know so I know how many students will need to complete that assignment.

God Bless you all +
Mr. Coulombe

Week 4

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you have had an awesome weekend. This post is a reminder of our weekly classroom meetings which are as follows:

4th Grade (all students): Wednesdays @ 2-2:30 PM
6th Grade (all students): Mondays @ 1-1:30 PM
7th Grade (all students): Wednesdays @ 11-1130 AM
8th Grade (all students): Fridays @ 9:30-10:00 AM

Important note: For zoom meetings, we are now required to provide a password to access the meeting. I will provide that password shortly before each meeting.

There is also an optional rosary every school day from 3:00 until 3:30 PM and is extra credit (so far we have had a few students join us last week). Feel free to join us and email me for the login information. There will be no Rosary on Thursday or Friday due to Holy Week.

I hope this helps. Later tonight, I will post this week's lesson plans.

Week 3

Good Evening 4th Grade and Parents:

Last week, we talked about the two greatest commandments, love of God and Love of Neighbor. This week, we will go into Chapter 8, the Ten Commandments. God gives us laws because he loves us and wants is to live well and to be able to know, love, and serve Him. It is not unlike the story of Michael on page 61 of the workbook. The expedition leader knew that Michael did not have much experience in hiking, so he gave him a book of rules of How to hike in the Rocky Mountains. The same applies with God who knows we are learning how to know, love, and serve Him, so he gives us a set of rules to live by. While the Ten Commandments tell us what to do, the Two Greatest commandments of Love of God and Love of Neighbor give us the purpose of why we obey the commandments. The first three commandments are given so that we may express our love for God. That other seven commandments help us to express our love for neighbor and hence our love for God. Ultimately everything we do is because we love God above all else.

We will have two videos and two exercises this week: The first one will be for the love of God and the second one will be our love of neighbor. I will also post a question on Monday that will serve as a class discussion. If you have any questions, feel free to call or email me.

Please also remember that we will have our weekly classroom meeting on Zoom this Wednesday @ 2 PM. I will post more details on the Google Classroom as we get closer to that day.
