Meet Our Principal
Dear Saint Mark School Community,
My name is Theresa Harrington and you may know me as the 7th and 8th grade ELA teacher, the director of the school musical or even as the vice principal. Now, I am so excited to introduce myself as the new principal of St. Mark School. I am honored to have been selected for this position as Saint Mark School is known far and wide for its dedication to excellence, but more importantly, to children.
I wanted to share a bit of my professional background. I have been teaching for 27 years (five at Saint Mark School) during which I have been a department chair, grade level chair, director of musical theater, Responsive Classroom coordinator, executive functioning trainer, and vice principal. My experiences have involved working with students in grades 1-8, music education, Catholic schools and public. I have a BS in Elementary Education from Kent State University and a MS in Reading from Cleveland State University.
I am very passionate about education and my goal is to ensure that all children are healthy, happy and safe, so they may learn as much as they can. I will spend a lot of time with your children, getting to know their personalities, learning styles and interests. I will celebrate their successes, small and large. I will encourage them every day and let them know they are valued and have a special place in our school community.
Not only am I excited to begin working with your children, but I look forward to the work we will do together. I cannot wait to share with you the great things they do throughout their days here at Saint Mark. And of course I will be here to work with you should they need any help navigating any aspect of the school day.
I am greatly supported through all of these changes by my husband of 27 years, Michael and my 25 year old son, Ryan.
Once again, I am so thankful to have the opportunity to bring all that I have experienced and learned with me to this wonderful community. I look forward to getting to know you and your children. I love this community and I know you do too.
Wishing you peace and safety,
Saint Mark School Principal
