Mr. Christensen

Mr. Christensen, or “Mr. C”,  is the new Music Teacher for TK-8 at St. Marks and he couldn’t be happier to take on this exciting role at this time in his career. He has a BA in Music and English from DePaul University and has run the Song Squared Music Education Studio for 25 years. Other notable career highlights have been working as a Music Librarian for Disney as well as proofreading scores for movies such as Frozen, Interstellar and Star Trek: Into Darkness.  He has been a touring and studio musician, music producer and continues to write, record, mix and produce his own music out of his recording studio in Burbank in his free time. He is also the Music Director for the St. Bernadette Parish in Baldwin Hills. 

The aspect of teaching at St.  Mark that he is most delighted by is that he can teach in an environment that embraces both his passion for music and his passion for God and the Catholic faith. He loves the fact that he will be able to nurture the same students year after year in their understanding and abilities in music. Mr. Christensen believes in a good balance between discipline and fun and has been successful over the years instilling this in his students, creating in them a lifelong love for music.  When not involved in his music endeavors, Mr. Christensen loves traveling, hiking, visiting museums with his wife and 8th grade son.  He also loves catching up with his older son and daughter-in-law in Seattle via phone and visits.
