Alum of the Season: Bob Berbrick

Bob Berbrick was a member of the first graduating class of St. Mark School in 1955. After 8th grade, he went to Mark Twain (9th grade) then Venice High for 10-12th grade. He graduated from UCLA as a mechanical engineer and became a NASA Technical Assistant for more than 30 years. He helped build Apollo the 13th rocket to the moon.

He recalls St. Mark School to be much different today as it was then. Before the Church was built, the school building was present first, and the yard was “all dirt.” The subjects offered are different, before, there was “just Math, English, and Religion”.

Through out this time Bob has been an active parishioner at the former 9am mass and currently at the 5:30pm Saturday Vigil Mass.
